France, early 20th century, polished white marble with ormolu mounts, porcelain and ormolu dial behind glass marked "France," Roman numeral hour markers, brass works backplate stamped "Medaille D'Or / Paris -1900 / Samuel Marti / France" and numbered A.1 / 3032 / 69, pierced cover to verso, raised on turned feet. Without pendulum and key.

The Collection of the late Mr. William Hulbert, Chesapeake, Virginia The 19th century French clock makers Samuel Marti & Cie won the Medalle de Bronze in 1860, and the Gold at the Paris exhibition in 1890.
