The first, a mezzotint engraving on paper, published 1782, The Death of Portia, after Godfried van Schalcken (Dutch, 1643-1706), engraved by James Walker (English, 1760-1823), published by James Walker, Portland Place, London.; the second, an engraving on paper, The Witch of En-Dor, after Benjamin West (America/England, 1738-1820), engraved by William Sharp (English, 1749-1824), published by J & J Boydell, London.; each float mounted in a parcel gilt fluted frame with starred corners under glass.

The first: 25 3/4 x 27 1/2 in. The second: 26 1/8 x 30 in.

The first, with cut margins and even toning; the second, with tearing and wear at edges, creasing at lower margin, event toning; frames with very light wear.
