Stretcher size 27 3/4 x 31 3/4 in.

Although he was born in a small fishing village, Simbari and his family moved to Rome when he was three years old. He studied painting and architecture at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Rome.

His first one-man show of paintings was in Rome in 1953. In 1956, he was exhibiting in London and ultimately has exhibited across the globe. "He defines himself as a figurative artist who went through Abstract Expressionism, Geometric Expressionism and a number of other styles of painting, but who has always been and still is a figurative painter because his greatest interest is in people."
