Anita Wolfenden was born and raised in Sweden, where she graduated from the University of Lund with a degree in classical archaeology. Since 1965 she has lived in the United States, where she makes North Carolina her home. Wolfenden studied tapestry with Silvia Heyden in 1981 and with Bojana Leznicki in 1995. In addition to fiber, Anita Wolfenden is known for her sculptural works in paper.
