Acrylic on wove paper, 1992, signed and dated to verso of sheet, labeled to verso, float mounted in a silvered frame under glass.

Sheet size 30 1/4 x 22 1/2 in.; Frame dimensions 37 1/2 x 29 in.

A native of Japan, Setsuya Kotani received his Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of Hawaii in 1961, and his Master's of Fine Arts from Columbia University in New York in 1970. He served as an Associate Professor of Art at the University of North Carolina Greensboro from 1974 to1999, teaching painting and ceramics. Kotani subsequently continued to serve as Assistant Professor Emeritus. Setusuya Kotani has exhibited internationally, most recently at the Grand Palais in Paris. He participated in the 2004 Art On Paper exhibition at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, and his work is also included in their permanent collection.
